This investigation established where some material could be found, not what the cipher meant. Public collection metadata and digitized manuscripts were used to map possible cipher segments and parallel evidence. There is no deciphered text, expert confirmation or new historical conclusion.
Collection records are external inputs, not my research outcome. Exact manuscript identifiers and images remain withheld until their reuse terms and disclosure status are checked; this draft retains only the search method and failure boundary.

The object had to be fixed before it could be read
A general description of a historical cipher does not identify the manuscript, side, line or segment under discussion. Similar catalogue titles and dates can point to different copies, while a digital viewer may divide an object differently from its catalogue record.
The first stage followed public metadata to connect manuscript records with image locations and assembled possible comparison records. That locates a research object. It does not transcribe the cipher or determine its meaning.
Parallel-evidence candidates are still candidates
A document mentioning the same person, date or event can look like a key to the cipher. Its date and provenance must match, and earlier decipherment scholarship may already have examined the relationship.
The source map and comparison list are internal outputs. Public availability of the archive inputs is not external validation of a decipherment. “Cipher solved,” “new clue discovered” and “unknown person identified” are unsupported descriptions.
Finding the page can make decipherment possible. It is not itself a decipherment.
Rights and exact identifiers belong in the next gate
A restart requires collection-specific reuse terms, exact manuscript-side-segment identifiers, prior decipherment research and full provenance for the comparison material. Only then should a transcription and reading hypothesis be prepared for expert review.
Online access to an image does not necessarily permit republication. This post stays text-only until a specific object’s terms are verified, and the current result remains limited to locating material and organizing a comparison path.
