BYUNGWOONG YOO · 유병웅
I’m Byungwoong Yoo. I explore biological questions through data and computation, and build software for research. Here I write about what I learn from that work: why changing a calculation changes a shortlist, or why records with the same name need to be read separately.

Biology and computation
Which molecules would I test next? How much of a protein structure should a calculation include? Follow the decisions behind the studies.
Tools for research
Explore how I built tools to compare records, trace changes and preserve what is needed to rerun an analysis.
Ideas from the work
A small calculation can uncover a hidden assumption. Questions from working with AI and research also lead to broader essays.
RECENT RESEARCH · CHECKED 21 OCTOBER 2026
The OPTN–TBK1 study is published in PIM
My comparison of two-chain and four-chain protein inputs was published in Perspectives on Integrative Medicine on 20 October 2026. I examined how the protein assembly included in a calculation changes the interpretation of docking results, and have made the computational data public.

If you need to rerun an existing analysis or check numbers against source records, send a public link and the question you want to resolve. We can agree on a scope after looking at the result you need and your timeline. I’d also like to hear where you got stuck using one of the tools.
